Chucks

This morning I pulled on my Chucks and I thought for a moment about them. You see I've had my Chuck for a few years now. That means that there are quite a few memories associated with them. I remember the day I got them rather vividly. I was shopping with my mother at Queensgate when I saw them in the Shoe Connection shop window. Immediately I knew I had to have them. I must admit back then I was a little bit more obsessed with Chuck than I am now. In fact I was so obsessed that it was pretty much impossible for me to spend a day without mentioning its awesomeness. I struggled so much that at one point my friends decided to ban me from talking about Chuck for a week or so. I failed. Anyway this relates to Converse sneakers not only because they have a similar name but also because Chuck (character) is always seen wearing Chucks. Undoubtedly subconsciously this convinced me to buy/get my mother to buy me my first pair of Chucks. There's product placement at work for you! Of course I told her that I needed them because I needed to wear sensible shoes for back reasons. Oh Camilla! I was so chuffed with my new awesome shoes that I even wore them home and celebrated their purchase by watching an episode of.... Chuck.

From those slightly dishonest beginnings I think I've almost worn my Chucks to death. Almost every day I wear them I thank Kirsten Stewart/Amanda Bynes (in Sydney White) they made it acceptable to wear Chucks with dresses/skirts/pretty much anything fancy. And since the majority of my wardrobe is fancy then it saves me a tonne of agony to know that it's okay to wear Chucks with a skirt/dress. I even wear them into town sometimes. Although this is Palmy town which seems to have a slightly more relaxed dress code than Wellington... I mean people wear Gumboots, swandri and track pants around Uni! I infamously even managed to hurt my ankle in my Chucks. Yes I know! It's extremely embarrassing. Everyone else manages to spend the night in heels while I hurt myself wearing sneakers... It did end up giving me a hilarious story though involving frozen blueberries and a slight purple stain on my Egyptian cotton sheets.

I just love my Chucks. So I thought it was necessary to write a post about them. I've even used the decorative pocket on the side of them to hold a twenty dollar note numerous times... although I do always get weird looks whenever I pull out my money to pay for things.

3 Good Things
*A Chemistry Lab test that strangely reminded me of a treasure hunt. Although my lecturer didn't particularly like it when I told him so/asked him a thousand other questions. What can I say? 'Trev I'm your biggest fan!' I did actually say that to him. As well as saying 'hey trev' a couple of times. Man night labs screw up my head.
*An early morning run. I finally remember why it is that I like running! A treadmill just isn't the same.
*Several comments on my nail polish!
