My Photo for Day 18
I find that clouds are magical. I used to lie under the sky light in my house and just watch the clouds go by. It reminded me that I was on planet earth. I thought that the movements of the clouds were a sign that the earth was spinning. It somehow meant that everything just fit into place. The earth span, the sun rose and set and the clouds moved across the sky. The earth holds its own place in the universe with each spin. It reminds me that I hold my own place in the world with each day that passes.
Clouds help me to piece the world together.
Everything in life is always so confusing. It reminds me of one of those Goosebumps 'Pick-your-own' story books. Except in this one there's no way that you can read ahead and figure out the pages which you should go to so that you aren't eaten by crocodiles on the way home from school. It's far more complex than that. No one ever has the same story because there are too many variables. The setting, the characters, the climax. They all change. There are billions of people living right across the earth from Antarctica to Austria. We all have different voices. The one thing that is always the same is the sky. Everyone lives under the same blue sky. But just like our views of the world the sky isn't the same to everyone. The clouds are what changes it. Instead of being the two dimensional blue they give it layers, dimensions, definition. It's the clouds which set our lives apart. They're the events which float into our lives. Sometimes they're a range of blues, purples and crisp whites whereas other times they're that heinous greyish shade as if someone has just blown a plume of smoke from their cigarette into your peripheral vision.
There's a reason why heaven is always depicted as delicately located atop a particularly fluffy cloud which resembles cotton wool in the Movies. From the earth they look solid. Whereas when you fly above them then you're aware of just how fragile they are. Clouds are unattainable. If you try and shoot for the clouds then you'll just fly straight through them. God placed clouds in the sky as a constant reminder that in this life we won't reach the clouds but if all goes well in your lifetime then the impossible becomes possible. God is a rather cunning character isn't he?
Clouds have a wonderful allure. I've tried to reach out. To touch them, more times than I can count. But they serve one final purpose. Their distance reminds me that I have to keep on going. I'm not there yet.
3 Good Things
*Chuck vs the Balcony. I was meant to wait until I got home but let's be honest that was never going to happen. It was gut wrenching, heart wrenching everything else -wrenching. Why oh why do I have to wait for ANOTHER WEEK! It's way too long. Everything was perfect. If only they'd just been a little bit later. Ugh! I hate TV shows they rarely end with a solid ending there's always this cliffhanger crap! I dislike cliffhangers intensely unless of course it's a two hour special in those instances I can deal with cliffhangers since I only have to wait through one agonising ad break rather than 7 agonising days or in the worst instances 7 agonising months... It's cruel... "You make every day beautiful!" AWWWW!
*The beautiful clouds tonight. I think that my pic of the day really shows that.
*My mother frantically ringing me to make sure that I was aware of the storm that's coming in. Thanks for caring Mum.
After Dinner Mint:
Love isn't about one person. If we were to concentrate all of our love on one person then world would just be a bunch of couples living in isolation. There's a reason why phrases like 'share the love' are prolific in today's society. We need to make connections with one another. It's this love that ties us all together as the human race. Love can't be diluted. We can love as many people as we want to love fully. There isn't a need to make sacrifices for one person over another. Every moment that we spend thanking someone, playing a sport with someone or even just being with someone is a moment well spent. There isn't a wasted moment. Time spent alone is a way of recharging. It means that we're in the loving frame of mind next time we see someone so we can 'throw some love on them'. (Chuck quote score!)
