I made a pact with myself today. I decided that I had to go for a run before I had lunch. I'm not anoerexic or anything it's just that I can't run if I've just eaten which makes life rather problematic so rather than wait another few hours for my run I decided to fast. Eventually I realised that I was rather hungry so I wanted to have lunch...wait what did I have for lunch? I can't believe I forgot to have lunch it's like the most important meal of the day/every meal is the most important meal of the day since food controls my life. I ate a lot of fudge though so that can count as lunch I guess... Anyway so I eventually forced myself to step outside and run. It was magnificent. For the first time in my life I decided that I wouldn't be deterred by the rain. Instead I forced each leg to follow the other resulting in the fluid motion that is more commonly known as running. It's splendid. I felt so light. Just so free. The rain didn't stop me I just kept on running.
Rain is the one physical barrier which we face every day. It makes us decide to stay inside. It stops us from living our lives. We have such a strong mentality that one cannot overcome the power of rain that we rarely do so. It's only when someone is motivated by an extremely strong force. Like love. That's why in rom coms a la my favorite movies it means so such when the guy rocks up at the girls house completely saturated. He overcame the unspeakable force. You need to have a special kind of strength to do something despite the rain.
After I rain 6k's in the hazy rain I strolled along my lawn repeating one phrase to myself. Carpe Diem. Sieze the Day. It's the way I'm going to live my life.
3 Good Things
*Holding Megans hand in 'Let me In' granted it was a rotten movie in more ways than one but it was reassuring to be able to clutch onto her hand along with Priyanka's when the scary moments started. Priyanka would tell us when it was okay to look.
*Chocolate Pistachio Fudge. Oh dear god what a tasty treat.
*Beating the rain. It will never hold me back.
Word of the day: Laquer; it sounds so much more elegant than nail polish,
