Superheroes

Remember those days when you'd whack your underwear over the top of your Lycra leggings and pretended that you were Supergirl? Or batman? Then you and your friends would run around the neighbourhood 'fighting villains' or just stalking the student teacher who you really didn't like. Those were the days.

You were a superhero. Yet as time goes on that childish view of a superhero being someone who just dons the gear flies away and instead it becomes a view which is a far more... realistic one. The adult superheroes don't have awesome names like 'The Green Lantern'. They don't have super powers and they most certainly don't wear Lycra. Outwardly they're ordinary people. But they're people who manage to do the unthinkable. We've all heard the stories of a mother pulling her child out of a burning car of a man risking his life to save a perfect stranger. Those stories tug at our heart strings and ultimately seem far too incredible to be real, to be possible. That's why we call them superheroes because they defy the human laws with incredible strength or incredible courage. They do these incredible things.

I'd love to be a superhero. I can't imagine anything cooler. It's probably why I was in love with Heroes in season 1 then of course it got really, really mediocre. I think I'd call myself Awesome Girl and I'd battle crime and save lives. What about my super powers? Telekinesis is a must since then I could save falling aeroplanes. Oh and if I'm saving falling aeroplanes I'd better be able to fly too oh and lightning hands to take down any villains... That's what I really don't like about the possibility of me having superpowers. Because if I had super powers then there would be others. And they may not use their powers well... They'd be disfigured guys named after a playing card and there'd be really rich dudes who have alliteration in their names... Ultimately lots of people who would hurt others and that wouldn't be fun.

Even though I don't have these powers I still want to be a hero. Not in a Kick Ass kind of way since there is no way I'm wearing skin tight anything. Instead in a regular kind of way. I want to be the person who acts when someone is a restaurant is choking or the person who is always there to lean on. Doing those small acts that are so mediocre in your life but so influential in someone elses. 1 Challenge. Be someones superhero.

3 GOOD THINGS

*Cherises text messages RE the bones grave digger episode. When I was reading them by myself I couldn't help but smile. One said 'Arggggghhhhh' another said 'I LOVE YOU :D :D:D' (that was after I said I was watching it as soon as I got home)... Marvellous text messages. Cherise is epic.

*Drawing a really cool picture to put on a get well soon card.... It was epic.

*Studying in the library. Nothing cooler than pumping out the tunes... ooh and that reminds me of a certain dream that I have that involves a library and a nerf gun... 'Twould be epic
